Surgeon
Dr Yeong Joe Lau BSc(Med) MBBS FRACS
Dr Yeong Joe Lau is an Australian trained orthopaedic surgeon specializing in the lower limb.
In addition to his general orthopaedic training, Joe has undertaken extensive subspecialty training in hip, knee, ankle and foot surgery both locally and internationally. This was in Canberra, Sydney, London, Amsterdam and Liestal, Switzerland. He has had papers published in peer reviewed orthopaedic journals and presented at national scientific meetings.
He treats public and private patients with appointments at The Canberra Hospital, National Capital Private Hospital, North Canberra Hospital, Calvary John James Hospital and Queanbeyan Hospital.
As a member of the Orthopaedic Department at The Canberra Hospital, Joe participates in the on-call roster for trauma and in the training of orthopaedic surgeons.
He is committed to improving patient care. He continues to assess and to adopt surgical techniques and technology when appropriate. This has included the incorporation of robotic assisted arthroplasty and direct anterior hip replacement surgery into his practice.

Referrals are triaged by Dr Lau daily and appointments offered based on urgency.
A referral from a G.P. is required for triage and to receive the Medicare Rebate.
Referrals may be sent via fax or e-mail.
You will be contacted once the referral has been triaged, which is usually the next day.
We consult from

The main practice is at Braddon. On-site parking is available. The practice is directly opposite the Elouera Street light rail stop. Accomodation for interstate patients is available on-site in the 5-Star Midnight hotel at special rates.
We visit Bruce Sports Medicine once every second week. Ample street parking is available in front of the practice.
